HOLLIS & MARSHMALLOW BUNNIES NEED VET CARE
Donation protected
Marshmallow (mostly white) and Hollis were living in a garage, in a small wire cage, with no A/C, no hay, and no exercise/play time or attention. They are three years old and neither girl-bunny is spayed.
Unfortunately, Marshmallow developed some serious dental disease, and because she never got attention, she was hard to handle and medicate, so her human did what any reasonably compassionate person would do - she made an appointment to have her killed (I refuse to use a quiet word like euthanized), and her sister as well, "because she will be lonely."
Hollis (the black and white girl-bun) has a somewhat healed wound on her face (most likely from two stressed-out, hormone females getting in a spat), which had some pus, but we are hoping that lancing and antibiotics will take care of that.
Both girls have some muscle loss, due to lack of exercise, and neither is used to being handled, so treatment time is rather animated.
We are raising funds to cover the initial cost of both girls' medical care. Spays will come a bit later, when they are healthier and settled.
FUNDS WILL COVER BOTH GIRLS: day care, wound treatment, lancing small abscesses on face, bloodwork, tear duct flush, antibiotics and pain meds to go home. Initial exams are no charge for rescue buns.
**We have had several Sanctuary Rabbits at the vet for emergency visits over these last three weeks - and we have another old man-bunny coming in this coming week. WE REALLY NEED DONATIONS. Lordy, don't we always? But we truly cannot do this without you. And we appreciate very single one of you, especially during these oddly trying times.
MARSHMALLOW (right) and HOLLIS HOLLINSBig thanks to veteran foster and sanctuary mama, Kate, for saying yes when I asked if she could foster these girls. They must feel like they have been released from hell and found heaven.
