Holly and Matthew Batie emergency fund

Hey y'all I'm Melissa Ray and I am a very close friend/relative of Holly and Matthew Batie. As you may know Matthew was in a terrible car accident a few days ago and is now fighting for his life at WakeMed. He's on a ventilator and he's being heavily sedated at the time to allow his body and brain to rest. He has had some brain swelling and they are trying to keep that down and keeping him sedated, calm and sleeping helps in keeping his brain swelling down as much as possible. Matthew is only 19 years old and he's such a Wonder and sweet young man that just lost his own father a little over a year ago. He lives with his mom Holly Batie and they are so close. The hospital is allowing her and his younger sister Kaylie to stay with him as much as they want to and this I'm sure will help him so much in the coming days. They are still uncertain as to if he's sustained any brain injury as far as memory, and all the different functions our brain normally controls when not injured. So he still has so far to go and as you would want to, his mom is staying by his side 24/7 which requires her to be out of work and she usually works 6 days out of 7 every week. She is the only provider for her and Matthew at the time and Matthew was also working to help his mom with the outrageous cost of living these days. We all know to well that missing a few days of work can throw your financial situation in a tailspin and get in a hole deeper than you can get out of. Christmas is tomorrow and I know Matthew will be spending his first Christmas away from home and his mom and sister will be by his side I'm very certain.
