Donate to help support Refuge
I will be running the Worthing Half-Marathon on the 30th April and am raising money for Refuge.
“Refuge is the largest domestic abuse organisation in the UK. On any given day our services support thousands of women and their children, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional, financial and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives — free from fear.”
I have chosen this charity for so many reasons as I believe the work they are doing everyday in helping women to gain freedom from abuse is so vital. Especially during the scary COVID pandemic, I cannot simply imagine how tough and terrifying those times would have been for so many women being isolated at home, but Refuge was still open to support women when they need it the most. During this time, Refuge supported over 10,700 women and 14,700 children, showing how vital Refuge’s work is in todays society. Now moving past the COVID pandemic and we have entered a cost of living crisis, which again is likely to leave women vulnerable to increased abuse as times get tough at home. Help support women and children through these times as “it could be the difference between life and death for women and their children experiencing domestic abuse”.
Any donations of any size would be massively appreciated by Refuge and myself. It will provide me with motivation to keep running on the day knowing that I am doing this for such an important cause. 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime so your money can help women to rebuild their lives and escape to freedom, where they don’t need to live in fear.
Thank you for any donation and please do click on the link to understand further about Refuge, their work and their impact. I don’t just wish to raise money but also awareness regarding domestic abuse so we all become more educated around this topic. https://refuge.org.uk/about-refuge/
