Help get us home for the holidays

Dear friends,
As most of you might know by now, we’re leaving Seattle for the hopefully greener pastures of Portland. After literally months of painstaking and frustrating searching in which we traveled back and forth time and time again to look at homes, we finally found one that we can make work, and we have an agreement in place to purchase. Hopefully all goes well with the escrow process and we should take possession somewhere right before Christmas. However, we need your help!
This process has seen us incur additional expenses, and securing this home required us to use up literally every last penny of savings we had. This leaves us with few to no resources to handle moving expenses, buying some supplies and things we need immediately to make our move into our new home work, utilities up and running, and more. We’re also going to be working with less money down there from month to month given the state income tax.
So in lieu of Andy and Miranda’s upcoming November and December birthdays, and Christmas (which we won’t be able to celebrate this year) we’re asking for any assistance you might be able to provide to help fill in the gaps and allow us the short-term financial buffer we need to make this big life move without going into more debt.
We set a goal of $6,000, which should be enough to let us make the move without too many worries. If we can surpass this goal, and add on top of it, we’ll be in even better shape.
If you cannot contribute, but want to offer your moral support, or can help us physically pack and clean, we’ll gladly take those kind tidings as well. We realize times are tough right now—believe us we know. This year we have endured serious medical issues, family members suffering physical and emotional turmoil, tumultuous conflicts surrounding projects and passions we worked so hard to advance, suffered multiple occasions of loss and grief, extreme work-related stresses, five different battles with identity theft/credit card fraud, and too many other smaller problems to count. When they say “when it rains, it pours,” our 2017 has been a tsunami.
Our morale this year has been sapped and many times we wanted to simply give up. But we pressed ahead, loved each other a little more and kept shooting for our goals.
Now we finally have something we can look forward to building on. If you can help push us the last few miles, we’d be forever grateful.
Thanks,
Andy and Miranda
