Help Orthodox Mission Purchase Land
Tax deductible
There has never been a permanent place of worship for Orthodox Christians in the Union County PA/Lewisburg area--until now. Holy Protection Russian Orthodox Mission Parish, which includes and welcomes people from all backgrounds, is acquiring land and a temple. We have been meeting in rental spaces and are now pooling our own resources for a permanent space. Please help us and support our efforts, along with cultural and religious diversity in the mid-Susquehanna Valley, with your prayers and as possible any gifts large or small. Our mission parish was founded in 2015 with the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. Our Rector is the Very Rev. Archpriest Claude Vinyard, who has had experience leading a number of parishes in Pennsylvania, our Dean is the Very Rev. Archpriest John Sorochka of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, our current lay Mission Warden/President is Prof. Alf Siewers, and our members include a wide range of professional and faith experience. We have a close relationship with the Bucknell Orthodox Christian Fellowship in Lewisburg, and our mission has the liturgical support of two subdeacons, and includes a student in the ROCOR Pastoral School. For more information, please see holyprotectionchurch.net, and contact us at [email redacted] Thank you for any support possible which can also be made anonymously. We are a tax-exempt religious organization, and can provide you with a letter recognizing your donation. Please most of all support us with your prayers!
