Home adaption for single level living.

Edited: Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this milestone so far we really appreciate everyone’s support
Hello all.
Most of you will likely already be aware of my recent diagnosis of Motor Neurons Disease (MND).
MND effects the nerves known as motor neurons. These nerves are found in the brain and spinal cord and they help tell your muscles what to do.
If you have MND, this means your movement will be affected and you are likely to get a wide range of symptoms.
My body is already showing signs of decline, so I need to get things in place whilst I'm still able.
The fundraising is to help towards a house extension for single level living. This will incorporate a bathroom and bedroom, as I will be unable to get up the stairs. There will be a need for specialist lifting equipment, wheelchair access and medical equipment.
This will also to make life easier for my partner Nicola who will ultimately, become my full time carer.
Because of my diagnosis, I am unable to take equity out of my home or take any loans to cover the cost, due to my decline and not being able to work in the near future to make the re-payments.
I am in touch with Fife Council who are willing to fund a percentage of the adaptation through MND Scotland, they are also helping with the design plans and building warrants.
Your donations will be greatly appreciated and make a big difference to my quality of life when I am no longer mobile.
There are fundraisers/ race nights being planned to help the cause so I will keep you informed where and when these will take place, if you wish to come along.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks for any donation you have made.
