Home for a Veteran - Future Builders Program

Want to join Sean and me in making a difference? My wonderful son Sean Kessler is raising money to benefit a Veteran with a low income home and students of Caroline High School in gaining knowledge, skills and experience. He is taking the Polar Plunge for this great cause this Saturday, February 4th for Habitat for Humanity of Caroline County, and any donation will help make an impact. Habitat for Humanity of Caroline County is partnering with Caroline High Schools Construction CTE call to launch a new program called The Future Builders Program. Students will build and sell a home at cost to a local veteran. This program provides students interested in the building industry to get real world hands-on experience building a home. In addition to actually building the home the students will get to work with and talk with the almost 40 different trades that are required to build a modern home. This will allow them to see the many different career paths available in the building industry.

Lessons in life are often more than just what you can learn and get but it is also about giving back to the community. To teach the importance of these values the home the students build will be sold at cost to a local veteran in need of a stable affordable home. When the house is sold all funds go into a restricted account that will allow another year of students to have the same experiences.

All proceeds raised through the Polar Plunge for Habitat are restricted and will be used for the Future Builders Program
