Tapia’s Home in flames, Family lost everything.
Donation protected
On March 2, 2022, a fire destroyed the Tapia family’s home in Margate, FL. The family of 8 (5 adults and 3 children- ages 7, 2, and 1) lost all of their belongings. The fire started from an air conditioner in the backyard and made its way through the house instantaneously.
Thankfully, all family members and their pet rabbit made it outside in time to safety. We are grateful that no one was injured. And are grateful that a very brave fireman was able to retrieve the ashes of their grandmother from their living room. Unfortunately, no other items were retrieved and the family did not have renters insurance.
The Tapia Family are the kindest people with the most generous and loving hearts. The news of this shocked and saddened all of their loved ones to the core. It has been an emotional few hours for us, but we cannot imagine the devestation and terror felt by each member of the family who experienced this horrific tragedy. As the Tapia family restarts their journey, funds will be used to fill immediate needs such as temporary housing and clothing and needs for the young children. The family will need time to recover mentally, emotionally, and financially in the aftermath.
The goal of this GoFundMe effort is exclusively relief and recovery. The listed goal of $20,000 is an approximation, as the full scope of loss is difficult to quantify and still being assessed.
Any amount you can spare would be tremendously appreciated. Thank you for the kindness and generosity in helping this beloved family.
