Home Lost in Evans Canyon Fire
My parents, Paula and Steve, lost their home of 35 years in the Evans Canyon Fire near Yakima, WA. On Tuesday, September 1st the winds changed direction and quickly drove the fire from the mountains into the valley where they lived. They were able to evacuate safely, but everything they owned was destroyed. This is the same house shown multiple news outlets.
While they have insurance, it is not going to be enough to rebuild their house. Insurance companies tend to be a bit heartless in these situations, which has compounded the overall stress for my parents. We built that home as a family, so the loss is deep. They are both of retirement age. My nephew, Ricky Miller, and I would like to see them get a home back where they can enjoy their golden years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. God bless.
