Home Destroyed by Lava — Leilani Estates, Big Island Hawaii



This morning, Saturday, May 5, 2018, the my parents lost their home in the volcanic eruption that is currently devastating Leilani Estates on the Big Island of Hawai‘i.  

From all indications the house is an entire loss.  They were only able to take a couple of days worth of clothing, and their pets when the evacuated Thursday afternoon.

Now they have start over and rebuild their lives, which is why we are asking for help. 

My parents are retired, and on a fixed income.  It could be months, or even years before any insurance claims are settled, and they do not know if there will be any support on the State or Federal level.  

In addition having to replace the items they lost, they will also have to find a new place to live. Very likely they will have to rent a home for the foreseeable future, while continuing to pay the mortgage for their destroyed home.

I am asking you to please open your hearts in aiding the family with any amount of donation you can provide at this time to help with their immediate needs of replacing clothing, furniture, and settling them in long-term housing.
