Homegrown- A Collaborative Fashion Event
Donation protected
The inaugural collaborative fashion event Homegrown, presented by PNC, will be held at the Dare County Head Start Center in Manteo at 6pm on Friday, June 11. The event is co-hosted by Dare County Arts Council and Long Way Home.
Founded by Manteo native Treveon Govan, Homegrown is inspired by some of Dare County’s most unique creatives and bridges the gap between the genres of design, music, art, surf, skate, and fashion that embody the Outer Banks’ culture.
Homegrown will feature a runway fashion show, an artisan market, and live music by Zack Mexico, Holden McOwen and Tshombe Selby.
Mom’s Sweet Shop, KIIIND, Ruckus, CCM Workshop, Wescott, Made by Jinx, Amiligoisili, Indecent Supply Company, and Local As It Gets will be debuting new fashion and designs that embody the Outer Banks’ culture at the runway show.
The family-friendly event is free, but guests can purchase VIP tickets that include front row seating for the runway show online at https://www.facebook.com/events/133039105462677. VIP tickets are limited.
Homegrown will also include live art, a bike and car show by Garage Boys Racing, the Fork’et Me Not food truck, and the team from Breaking Through Task Force.
We need your support! We are asking local Outer Banks businesses to help us reach our fundraising goal for this event by making contributions to Trey's GoFundMe. Please help us reach our goal - and make this event an Outer Banks tradition.
Homegrown is presented by PNC. Thank you to Manteo Furniture & Appliance, Hatchell Concrete Inc., Stan White Realty, Pea Island Preservation Society Inc., Outer Banks This Week, The Town of Manteo and the North Carolina Arts Council for sponsoring this event. This project is sponsored by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau. This project is supported by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural & Cultural Resources.
