Homeless and Food Insecure Individuals
Donation protected
Hello all, my name is Desiree. I am a pre-health student who is passionate about helping the community and providing people in need with things we consider to be basic needs. I work as an EMT and we were recently at an outdoor event where we gave a few cold patients these small foil emergency blankets that are great at reflecting body heat even on someone who is soaking wet. With the recent bout of rain and freezing temperatures, I ordered a bulk package of these blankets and plan to distribute them to the homeless people who are currently living and sleeping outside in these freezing temperatures. I also ordered some simple trash bags that serve as a great waterproof material to wear over clothes. This is just some simple stuff I came up with regarding the temperature. This was a $55 investment on me, but I would love to make this a community effort to continue this! It would be great to get a bulk stock of heat packs/ hand warmers as well. These people could also always use a healthy meal and water as they are so rarely accessible to someone trying to live at as low a cost as possible on the streets.
If you have the funds to share a few dollars for me to purchase additional supplies for these individuals that would be amazing! Please share if you have any family or friends who would like to support a humanitarian cause such as this one as well. I will be using any and all funds to distribute these life-saving and life-sustaining products to my local homeless community here in Pomona. If you have a local community you would like to see these products distributed please let it be known as a comment along with your donation. Please also let me know any other necessities or products you would like to see be invested in and distributed to these impoverished communities. Also, let me know if you would like to participate in distribution! Small donations really add up! Especially for these bulk items!
Spread the love, spread the wealth, and thank you so much!
