Homeless Cats to Loving Homes #CatCare

Please see some rescue stories under updates and consider making a donation. A GFM is the last thing I want to do, but I need help for cats in need. I know there are other important causes to donate to, but if you love animals and can spare some change, I would be very humbled. Since moving to Atlanta in 2011, I have rescued 1300 cats off the streets
and several from euthanasia, costing over $150,000 in vet bills and food. For several years, I never asked for any donations or help. GFM requires a set goal; however, the daily costs for supplies, medications and vet care are nonstop. Rescues come in sick, require several vet visits, and many past midnight emergency vet visits. It is very easy to spend $6000 in any given month for vet emergencies. I have helped people in surrounding neighborhoods and on Facebook with many cats, usually without so much as a $5 donation. From the forever haunting horrors I have seen on the streets, I find it hard to turn a blind eye to any suffering animal. In the last two weeks, I have rescued 9 kittens, all sick, flea-infested, with chronic diarrhea and eye infections from a location they were in danger. Some recently lost their lives at that location.

Since April, 20 cats have been to the vet. My current vet bill (last 3 weeks) from taking in 5 of the 9 kittens, a 10 yr old homeless cat with
an injured paw and a homeless cat with Feline Leukemia dying a slow death on the streets is at $2300. I still have 14 cats to fully vet in preparation for adoption. I take care of 38 cats on a daily basis, several with special needs, requiring frequent vet visits, Insulin, Predlislone, Vitamin B shots and Prescription food. Every cat I rescue is with me until they find the perfect home.

I helped a lady with 3, 6 wk old kittens that never got any inquiries for adoption. They were just adopted as a bonded trio after 6 yrs of being with me and caring for them.
