Homeless Chihuahua & Her Hooman Need Your Help
Pastor Kennedy of First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood & Meg Comerford are organizing a fund raiser for a homeless woman, Marlene, and her companion, Coco “the wonder Chihuahua”.
A few months ago, Marlene was a total stranger whose path crossed with a holy man and a dog loving parishioner. Marlene had been sleeping on the steps of the church. She was once a successful office manager until personal tragedy (loss of her soul mate) knocked her to her knees, and a covid job loss assisted by kicking her to the curb.
We are trying to reconstruct her life. She is presently living in a leaky tent, washing store windows and sweeping up trash to feed “her Er sinai Coco”. Her immediate needs include housing, counseling, a new job and dental work.
Marlene is a hard worker with a strong belief in God and is now part of the estimated 3 million homeless.
First, and foremost we are asking for your prayers, a short note of encouragement and of possible, a donation.
“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
