Homeless in my own Home, Ed Satterla

Hi my name is Sharon and I’m creating this fundraiser for Our friend Ed, 58, is in ill health and in desperate need of any help that can restore his life to a normal one.

He was working until he had to stop to take care of his elderly mother, who passed during the pandemic in 2020.

He was left her house, without income, and it was quite hard to maintain the home. He was doing it though until December 2022 when we had a bad storm and the electrical powerline was ripped off his house. BWL put the line back on the house but will not turn it on because he does not have an Electrical MAST on the house, there never was one. He had a company look at it and gave an estimate, but he doesn’t have the funds for it.

DHS will not help him because he has no steady income. For 15 months he has survived in his home with NO ELECTRIC , NO HEAT, NO FANS, NO REFRIGERATOR, NO STOVE TO COOK!!

He needs a double hip replacement and can’t work, he drove Uber for money until his car stopped working on him.

He has applied for Social Security and is waiting on a decision.

We have been helping him with meals, propane for heat, generator battery pack to charge his phone and for a light. For 15 months.

I have tried, in vain, contacting any and everyone that may be able to help. Without money or stable income it’s difficult.

I reached out to Sabrina at Pure Hearts of Michigan and bless her she is working to find someone that can do the work.

I’m asking for prayers and monetary help to help cover the costs. He is a very private person and this is my hope that we can come together as a community and help him. He is grateful to have a roof over his head

But No one should have to live like this.

Ed is very appreciative of the support, but he’s still very much in need the money is being used to assist in cost of repairs a towards fuel oil to heat his home. He needs a double hip replacement and hernia surgery he has put his health needs on hold because he needs a safe home to recover.
