Homeless & sick former foster kid needs help
Donation protected
Unfortunately the situation has become more critical: Daniel was in a serious accident with a semi truck and has lost his car/shelter.
I am raising money for my lovely friend Daniel who urgently needs help with medical bills and living expenses after he suffered a major financial setback (news story).
He is a former foster kid who has been living out of a vehicle for the past two years due to a health condition that has made him “allergic to life”. CPS intervened in his teenage years due to a difficult and traumatic home life.
“It feels like every cell in my body is screaming in pain”… Daniel has a severe immune condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which causes his overactive immune system to attack his organs, leading to bouts of debilitating fatigue, swelling, respiratory issues, and excruciating nerve pain, which often disable him. His condition causes severe food allergies which limits him to a diet of red meat and a few vegetables. A major symptom of his condition is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). He needs to avoid common everyday products, chemicals, and fragrances, or his immune system will attack his nerves and respiratory system. He also deals with chronic pain due to injuries related to Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD).
Daniel works several delivery jobs and dog sits when he is able, but unfortunately his frequent flares limit him. His condition has sent him to the hospital on multiple occasions.
Last winter- Daniel’s car/home was totaled by flooding. He spent all his money on a used car and is currently struggling to cover basic living expenses, including the payment for his car that is keeping him off the street. Medicine has helped Daniel make some modest progress with his health, but his condition is still disabling.
He has been a kind and sensitive soul from a young age, despite a difficult childhood which included 7 years in foster care. He has a special place in his heart for animals and has always stood up for the underdog, empathizing with those who were bullied or otherwise mistreated or disadvantaged. In second grade, he raised $180 for the tsunami relief effort in Thailand by shoveling snow, and keeps gloves and hats in his car to give to the homeless during the winter.
Daniel loves spending time in nature, writing music, and has a passion for self-improvement and healthy living. He hopes to have an organic farm someday and make a career of helping people improve their physical health and heal from emotional trauma. But right now, he needs help. I would be grateful from the bottom of my heart if you could help him get back on his feet.
