Homeless Senior Student Needs Our Help

This is the GoFundMe page created for 18-year old, Laelin Burlow, Roosevelt High School senior, who has been homeless since Monday, December 4th, 2023. This student is a friend of my children and stayed with us for one week after suddenly becoming homeless to no fault of his own. Laelin is a good student on track to graduate this year, and now also determined to find a home, despite his situation during a cold Detroit winter. Due to not having the space at home for him to stay, Laelin’s high school counselor was able to secure him space at a nearby shelter. The high school counselor also helped to enroll him in a public program to assist with school/job transportation. The same program will also assist him with obtaining car and has just recently found him an apartment! While his situation is incredibly unfortunate, he’s hopeful and determined to find work, learn to pay rent and live successfully on his own. He just needs a little help from his neighbors to get him started.

Laelin, my family and myself would like to ask, would you please consider donating (even a small amount) to help him make the best of this rough start into adulthood?

All funds will be given to him to use towards rent and living expenses until he is able to find work that offers him full-time hours around school. Any amount helps!
