Homer Mariner Helmet Fund

The Homer Mariner Football Team just completed the 2022 season with the school’s first ever State Championship. We fielded a team of 50 athletes and anticipate a growing number for the next season. We are excited for what we’ve accomplished and what lies ahead.

The safety of our players has always been a priority. In an effort to keep our players as healthy as possible we would like to begin cycling in new helmets.

The lifespan of a certified helmet is 10 years. At the end of the 10 years they are required to be destroyed. This year we have 22 helmets that must be destroyed and replaced. That currently leaves us with 25 helmets for a team of 50+ athletes. The Homer Mariner Football Team is seeking assistance with covering the cost of 35-40 new helmets to properly outfit our growing team. The current cost for a new helmet is $385.
