Help support Tiny Home Project
Donation protected
HomesNOW! Bellingham is a group of volunteers working together to provide homes and shelter for the homeless in Bellingham and Whatcom County.
A CALL TO ACTION
Jim Peterson had a dream since 1993 to start solving homelessness, one person at a time.
HomesNOW! has a plan that is very simple. The plan is just to go from Point A to Point B, and that is to take a homeless person off the street and house them, plain and simple.
Jim Peterson presented this plan to the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1994 and they told Jim that the plan was too simple and would never work.
Jim never gave up on that dream. So Jim Peterson and Doug Gustafson started HomesNOW! to finally implement that dream. July 2017 we filed for 501c3 status and we received our certificate of incorporation.
Our plan is very simple. Build tiny homes and start putting people in them right away. We have a Builder that has agreed to build our first pilot project at cost of materials which is around 25,000 dollars.
Above is a picture of what the pilot project will look like the top picture is the complete thing and bottom is what the service building will have.
We are so close to making this a reality Whatcom County has been very interested in working with us and we now have Hertiage General Building Contractors on board to build all of it at cost of materials.
Now we are asking for your support to make this happen
