Honor Bill Sprague: Memorial Dedication Fund
Spende geschützt
Some individuals touch the lives of so many within their community that it’s only fitting that their community returns the thanks.
In this case, we are raising funds for a memorial dedication to William (Bill) Sprague (11/16/1935 - 6/25/2023). Placed atop the hill on Maple Ave, in Allegany, NY this rock and plaque will honor the life of a man who encouraged his students and athletes to reach high, to dig deep, and showed them all that they are entirely capable of doing hard things. Bill Sprague was a teacher at Allegany Central School for 30 years during which he coached girls and boys basketball, track, and cross-country. The impact ‘Mr Sprague’ had on countless students will forever be remembered with this dedication.
Suggested donation is anywhere from $5-$20, as the contribution is meant more as a symbol of all who were impacted by this great man, coming together to honor his life. The cost of the memorial plaque itself is $680. Any additional monies raised will be donated to the Salvation Army, the ALCS Booster Club, and the Bonaventure Fund, three charities close to Mr. Sprague’s heart. Placement and dedication ceremony will be held in the fall of 2024, on Saturday, November 9. The fundraiser will officially close on Thanksgiving and donations will be distributed in December.
