Honor Briley's Legacy: Support Altman-Turner Family Adoption
Donation protected
After two+ years of infertility struggles and two miscarriages, Ryan and I recently decided to adopt. This has been on our hearts for as long as we can remember and we are beyond excited to begin this process. When Ryan and I told my dad that we were beginning the adoption process, his text message to us said, "I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of both of you for forging ahead together with such a strong commitment to each other and to creating a family. I can't wait to see what the future looks like." He sent this text message on June 27th and less than a month later he suddenly died from a heart attack on July 15th.
My daddy was more than just a daddy to me, he was my best friend, my confidant, and my protector. He was so much to other people as well. He was a devoted son to his mama, an adoring brother to his three sisters, and "Uncle Bub" to twelve nieces and nephews and fourteen grandnieces and nephews. More than anything he longed to become "Papa" to our future children.
A considerable number of people have reached out to ask how they can help. The average adoption in America costs between $25-$45,000, and Daddy had committed to helping us. Anything we raise beyond that amount will be donated to the Eastern Carolina Homeless Organization (ECHO), which was not only where my daddy worked, but was his passion and heart.
Ryan and I will never stop missing you, Daddy. No amount of money will ever replace who you were to us. We will hold you in our hearts forever, and I promise to try my hardest to live out your legacy every day.
