To our Barlow Community and beyond…
below is a statement from Bryant’s family which truly shows his remarkable character. All of his peers have expressed how he created laughter and smiles on a daily basis. The Bruins family would like to express our heartfelt condolences to his family and hope this small token can ease some of the burden from their shoulders as they navigate through this.
“My beloved son, Bryant, who had just turned 17, tragically passed away on July 31st after fighting for his life in the ICU for seven days. On a seemingly ordinary day, Bryant drowned at Sandy River and was underwater for an unimaginable 40 minutes. Despite the heroic efforts of the medical team, he could not recover from the ordeal.
Bryant was set to start his senior year this fall, full of dreams and aspirations. As the second born of my four children, he brought immense joy and laughter to our lives. His infectious enthusiasm, kindness, and compassion touched everyone around him. He was an exceptional young man who excelled in sports, academics, and, most importantly, in being a loving son, brother, and friend.
The days we spent in the ICU were the most challenging of our lives, watching our bright, strong boy fight with all his might. The outpouring of love and support from our community during this time has been a testament to the impact Bryant had on so many lives.
We are reaching out for support to cover the medical and funeral expenses, as well as to create a memorial in Bryant’s honor. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us during this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity and kindness will be forever appreciated as we strive to remember and celebrate the beautiful life of our dear Bryant.
Thank you for your support.”
