Honor Choony Lee's Memory with Your Help

Please help Choony’s family give her a proper sendoff and recover from their devastating loss.

This GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds for the Lee-Kawanishi family.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that we have lost Choony Lee after her long and profoundly courageous battle with cancer.

We ask for your generosity one last time to give Choony a proper sendoff and allow her family time to grieve without the added strain of financial worry.

Since being diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2017, and as the aggressive cancer progressed, Choony dug deep into her powerful love of life to try to keep her spirits high. Despite everything she was dealing with, she always rejoiced in the joyful events happening in her loved ones’ lives. Less than a month before her passing, she even rallied to attend a friend’s first wedding anniversary celebration, dancing the night away (pictures below).

But over the years, as her health declined and her care became more and more complicated, the demands increased on her family – emotionally, physically, and financially. Her husband Toshi and their daughters Colette and Esme put their lives on hold. They made extraordinary sacrifices under the most difficult circumstances to be by her side and care for her as she had always cared for them.

The funds collected here will pay for final medical costs, Choony’s celebration of life, and general living expenses for her family as they transition to life without her. Any amount will help.

Thank you for the countless ways you have made Choony feel loved and valued and for everything you’ve done to ease her family’s burden. She will be missed more than we can say.
