Help Honor Christian Mbimba
Christian Mbimba passed away on Friday, September 3rd, at the age of 21. A loving son and brother, he was passionate about soccer, cooking, photography, and travel. He dreamed big and never shied away from adventures that would take him out of his comfort zone. He even trained to be a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service. His faith in God never wavered, acting as a comfort throughout his life.
Christian was born in Goma, Congo and moved to a refugee camp in Rwanda with is family. There, he learned to be crafty when cooking for his younger brother, Grace, a job he took very seriously. After leaving the camp in 2013, Christian and his family were resettled in Tennessee. Once in Nashville, Christian soon found his place among friends at McMurray Middle School and Catholic Charities. His ability to learn English was amazing, making evident his intelligence. Since high school, he pursued many different endeavors, demonstrating his vast interests and skills.
We are all heartbroken that Christian has left this world, but find solace in the outpouring of support and love. This GoFundMe page was created both to honor Christian and to raise funds to help with his funeral. If you can, please donate toward these costs. Funeral arrangements will be shared publicly once they are made. Christian's family thank you in advance for your love, prayers, and support.
In addition to Christian's passing, Christian's mother is in the ICU at Vanderbilt Hospital battling complications from Covid-19. We ask for prayers for Gaudance's recovery.
