Honor Cody Stallings: Help Others in Recovery

The Cody Stalling Sober Home Scholarship Fund
Cody Stallings was a remarkable member of our South Florida Oasis community. Though I did not have the opportunity to get to know Cody deeply, his impact on our sober living home was significant. Cody's commitment to his own sobriety and his supportive role as a houseman were commendable. His dedication and friendly demeanor made him a valued member of our community. Tragically, Cody's journey ended too soon when he overdosed and passed away just weeks after his promotion. His loss is deeply felt, and he will be profoundly missed.
In lieu of flowers, Cody Stallings' family has requested that donations be made to establish the Cody Stallings Sober Home Scholarship Fund. This fund is designed to support individuals who need our sober living services but lack the financial means to access them. Each scholarship, valued at $1,170, will cover move-in costs, transportation to our residence if needed, a one-month bus pass, and one month of housing. This comprehensive support offers recipients the stability they need to focus on their recovery without the added stress of securing housing and transportation.
South Florida Oasis was inspired by my friend Wael, who faced a tough relapse after being clean for four years. His struggles with job loss, near car repossession, and homelessness revealed the urgent need for supportive sober living environments. Seeing his hardship motivated me to create South Florida Oasis, aimed at providing clean and safe housing. Wael, who started as a houseman, now manages our properties, reflecting the resilience and growth our mission embodies. Our journey is built on personal experience and a commitment to offering a nurturing community for those in recovery.
The Cody Stallings Sober Home Scholarship Fund will help us extend our reach and provide crucial support to more individuals in need. Our goal is to positively impact the lives of at least 10 people through this fund, continuing Cody's legacy and ensuring that others can find the hope and support that Cody and so many others have experienced. Your contribution will enable us to uphold our mission and provide life-changing support to those on their recovery journey.
