We are asking for your support for our dad, Craig's final burial expenses and end-of-life hospital bills that my mother and the family have incurred. Craig Nutter was a loving and giving, hard-working man. He joined the Army at 17 and retired from service at 35. My mom and dad were high school sweethearts when he left for boot camp. Letters, phone calls, and on-leave reunions, and years later Craig was deployed to Germany and they eventually grew apart and lost touch, but never forgot each other. 28 years later they found each other again! Their love for each other was still strong. He and my mom moved back home to California. Eventually, my mom's kids moved home to be with them too! Craig put 2 of us in college and helped raise my 2 kids. He was our sole provider of our 6 person family.
Craig and my mom loved each other very much. He called her kitten and she called him her soldier. She is so proud of the man her soldier became. My brothers and I love Craig so very much. We all called him dad. He always ensured we knew he loved and was proud of us!
He fell ill on Wednesday. and he passed away on Saturday afternoon holding my mom's hand. They would have been married 12 years next week.
