Honor Dale Gregg's Legacy: Funeral Assistance
Donation protected
Hi, I am Kalli Gregg. I am the daughter-in-law of Dale Waymond Gregg of Tracy City, TN. He served in Vietnam and Desert Shield/Storm. He passed away this past Tuesday at 77 years old; he would have been 78 on 10/08/1946. Me and my father-in-law had a very special relationship, and roughly a month ago, he told me in the car, "I'm tired and I'm ready." He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gregg, 65, who also has a dementia diagnosis; my husband, Paul Gregg; his brother, David Gregg, and wife, Mercedes Gregg; with lots of blood and 'inherited' grandchildren. Mom and Dad moved from Tracy City to Shelbyville with me and my husband, Paul, in 2021 when their home burned to the ground.
Anything would help; the total at Doak's Funeral Home in Shelbyville is $1850.00. I am asking extra for urns and keepsakes for Mom. They have been married 44 years. He had the best sense of humor; his famous line was, "Reba McEntire can eat crackers in my bed anytime!" The VA only covers $300 on cremation, and that is if approved to reimburse afterward. He wants cremation to have ashes buried on top of his eldest son's grave in Grundy. Chris Gregg passed of brain cancer at 26 years old. The PTSD flashbacks from war tragedy have truly been devastating to see. He was a very religious man, and we as a family are certain he's upstairs with his veteran buddies and son with the Lord. I understand times are hard; donations are accepted at Doak's if you'd rather go that route. If you are able, please find it in your heart to get our dad laid to rest.
