Honor Deanna Ewing's Memory
Donation protected
Hi everyone. For those who may not know me, my name is Holly and I am raising funds to lay my Mother to rest. Deanna Ewing was born October 23, 1959 and she was larger than life. She met my Father when they were both 16 years old and she always described it as "love at first sight". They had adventure after adventure together through the years and eventually tied the knot on a whim in Las Vegas. I was born the following year and my sister 7 years later. We were her pride and joy. Her life, while filled with people both friends and family who loved her immensely, was also a life of pain, heartache, trauma, and tragedy. She had been battling her trauma and addiction for so many years, nearly lost her in 2020 due to her liver failure, but after the house fire 2022, she was never the same bright light in life as she once was. Her light had started to dim along with her hope and health. She LIVED for her granddaughters, whom she loved with her whole heart and talked about them to anyone who would listen. She hid how much her health was failing from everyone and even herself until the end. On the morning of October 21, our Dad found her cold and unresponsive on the couch. She had passed sometime during the night, but she passed peacefully in her own home and just "went to sleep"; the way she would have wanted it so we take comfort in knowing she was where she wanted to be and she was not in pain. Our hearts are broken, our lives are changed, we see her memory in every single thing we see, do or say. Her memory will live on through her daughters, granddaughters, husband, and the many friends she has made with her fierce love and loyalty, her contagious laugh, and her "small but mighty" personality. We will miss her everyday, but though she may not be with us in the flesh, she is with us always in spirit until we meet again. Her only request was to be cremated and laid to rest with my Dad (when the time comes), so we are asking for help to make her last wish come true and lay her body to rest until my sister and I make the trip to the Sierras to say our final goodbyes.
