A Request for Support to Honor Horace Mitchell Downing’s Legacy

It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you all. My father, Horace Mitchell Downing, passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 70. He dedicated his life to serving the City of Lumberton as a detective and uplifting the name of the Lord through his music, playing the piano for various churches throughout his life. His passing has left a deep void in our hearts.

Unfortunately, there were no allocated funds for his homegoing service, and as his children, we are facing the financial challenge of giving him the dignified and proper service he deserves. We are reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals to help us with the final funeral cost including, transport to North Carolina his final resting place and the remainder of his funeral expenses.
