Honor Domestic Violence Victim “Johnshane Powell”
Donation protected
On July 3rd, Johnshane "Nay” Powell, was heartbreakingly shot to death. Nay was affable, thoughtful, goofy, and an astonishing mother to her two beautiful daughters. Many people describe her as being a caring and helping person who would give anyone the shirt off of her back or her last to help out. At the time of her death, she was fighting a domestic violence case against her ex partner which occurred days prior to her slaying. The male was released from jail within 24 hours on the domestic violence charges, although he violated his parole. Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of Johnshane. Johnshane was an amazing mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and friend. Her infectious smile and magnetic personality caused others to gravitate to her and love to be in her presence. This tragic event has taken Nay away from us so unexpectedly and has not only given us emotional grief, but it has also caused financial hardship as we begin the difficult task of preparing for Johnshane’s Homegoing & Memorial Service. Any donations will be utilized for these services with any remaining donations placed in an account for her two daughters. A lot of you have reached out asking how to help and we thank you for your love and support.
