Remembering Doyle Glenn White (October 6, 1956 – July 29, 2011)
Today, on what would have been Doyle Glenn White's 68th birthday, I find myself reflecting on the life of a loyal and cherished friend. Doyle spent over 25 years in law enforcement, serving as a dedicated police officer. He was a man with a big heart, who not only protected others but also filled the lives of those around him with laughter and joy. Whether talking about his sons, his friends, or his love for fishing, Doyle’s presence was a comfort to everyone who knew him. His laugh and his happy face could brighten any room, and I miss him deeply.
Sadly, Doyle passed away on July 29, 2011, after a long battle with kidney disease. For years, he was on dialysis and on the kidney transplant list, hoping for a second chance, but it wasn’t meant to be. Through all his struggles, he remained strong, always thinking of others before himself. His courage, warmth, and unwavering friendship left a lasting impact on me and everyone he met.
As I visited his grave today, I was reminded that Doyle has been resting for 13 years without a proper headstone. It breaks my heart to see that this incredible man, who gave so much of himself to his family, friends, and community, does not yet have the recognition he deserves. I believe it’s time to honor his memory in the way he deserves, and I’m hoping to raise funds for a headstone so that Doyle can be remembered appropriately—a small token of the enormous legacy he left behind.
