Honor Dr. Nicholas Kipshidze's Legacy in Central Park
Tax deductible
We are setting up this GoFundMe to honor the memory of my father, Dr. Nicholas Kipshidze, who passed away on Christmas Eve 2024 at the age of 72. He will be laid to rest on January 5th, 2025, in Didube Pantheon in Tbilisi, Georgia, alongside his beloved parents, Nodar and Leli Kipshidze.
Having spent much of his life between Tbilisi and New York City, he left a lasting imprint on both cities. In New York, where we lived on the Upper East Side just steps from Central Park, he was a familiar and cherished figure. After I ventured out to college and then graduate school, he moved to midtown but stayed just steps away from the park that holds so many of our shared memories.
To honor his life and legacy, we are planning to install a small stone engraving in Gilder Run, Central Park. This spot, near the 86th Street entrance and just steps from the Met Museum, holds a special place in our hearts, reminding us of countless cherished moments spent together.
We hope to provide a place in NYC for family, friends, and colleagues to remember and celebrate his life. Your contributions will help us commemorate a man who deeply touched the lives of many, ensuring his memory continues to inspire and comfort us all.
Thank you for helping us preserve his legacy in a place he loved dearly.
