Honor Rabbi Yisahar Izak

Donation protected
Throughout his vibrant, inspiring life, Dr. Yisahar Aaron Izak managed to become cultured, educated, traveled, respected, and loved.

Yisahar was a man of many titles, all of which he beared proudly:

Rabbi. Rabbi Izak was an accomplished and respected rabbi. His role as a Rav was not simply his profession - it was who he was. His scholastic knowledge of Judaism’s texts and teachings were second to none, as was his ability to understand it, relate it, and pass it on. Rabbi Izak was always quick to arrange a Bris, organize Tefillah, order for and wrap Tefillin on soldiers, travel through extreme circumstances to read Megillah or blow Shofar for soldiers deployed and training. One could not spend time with him without being inspired to learn Torah or to take on additional mitzvot;

Soldier. CPT Izak was a combat-proven veteran of 3 different militaries. He meticulously prepared himself for challenging assignments and never stopped educating himself to be the best for those he served with including becoming a certified life coach and undergoing training in clinical pastoral care;

Paratrooper. CPT Izak served several years in the mighty 82nd Airborne Division, 9 months of which he was deployed to Afghanistan, and was a qualified paratrooper. CPT Izak finished his time in The Division with many jumps. Despite this achievement, he only ever sought to serve others for the glory of Hashem. His desire to make these additional sacrifices and attain higher standards was only to be in a better position to help his fellow Soldiers and provide for them the very best;

Patriot. One would be hard-pressed to find an American who was more proud of his chosen country than Yisahar. He often told the story of when he read the Declaration of Independence for the first time and knew he needed to be an American;

Tzadik. Rabbi Izak’s bravery was exemplified off the battlefield and out of the sky, as well. He was eternally righteous. He never faltered in doing the right thing, even if it meant personal hardship for himself. Selflessness was his watchword. He also served as an EMT, paramedic, and an auxiliary police officer for the NYPD before he joined the US Army;

Tati. Yisahar was a model father to his 8 wonderful, adoring children. He lived for them and his influence will live on through them and their children after them, BzH; and

Husband. Yisahar was the husband to his wife, Tamar, that all men strive to be. Their love transcends this physical realm.

Please consider making a donation to Rabbi’s family in honor of his life of service to Hashem and Country.
