Honoring the Life and Legacy of Jared Earl Higbee
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jared Higbee, a man who faced life’s greatest challenges with courage, laughter, and hope. Jared’s journey was one marked with profound loss and struggles including miraculously surviving a gunshot wound to the abdomen with no harm, and the heartbreaking loss of his 1st son, Desmond—a loss that contributed to his battle of constant searching and belonging. Yet, through it all, Jared’s gentle spirit and giant heart remained constant. Jared made everyone feel like they belonged, and he had the most contagious laugh equipped with remarkable humor bringing levity to stressful situations. His love of the outdoors took him on many adventures, as he consistently enlisted others in the adventure, often leading the pack on rivers, over mountains, and through rocky terrain. He was a fisherman, and loved to share the bounty and cooking for others.
Jared possessed a unique superpower: the ability to feel deeply and love fiercely. He would DO anything for anyone regardless of their background. He poured his heart into everything he touched, whether it was serving others through building or his remarkable talent for woodworking. He lived to serve, and found his purpose often in extending himself generously to others tasks, and rescue. Skilled with his hands, Jared created beautiful works that stood as a testament to his creativity and dedication—a reflection of the gentle soul behind each creation.
Throughout his life, Jared sought connection with others and God, knowing He lived, seeking to find Him in every way he could. Prone to wander, Jared's seeking for the One, was a powerful driving force, guiding him through the highs and lows of his journey, even when he felt lost.
As his young son Hans and loved ones mourn the loss of such a kind and vibrant soul, we ask for your support to honor Jared’s memory. The financial burden of funeral expenses weighs heavily during this already painful time, and we humbly ask for your generosity to help provide Jared with the farewell he deserves.
Your donations will go directly toward covering funeral costs and giving Jared’s family the chance to celebrate his life in the way he would have wanted. Any contribution, big or small, is deeply appreciated and will ease the burden on his grieving family.
Let us come together to honor our Jare-Bear, whose heart and hands shaped beauty in this world—a man who loved deeply, felt profoundly, and always served as a means to bring light into the lives of others. Thank you for your generous support and kindness during this difficult time.
