Honor Jean Gilbert: Support Funeral Costs
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of Jean Gilbert of Bainbridge NY. (Known as Jean Lilley by some.)
My Grandma was a loving woman who brought so much love and light into my life. Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Jean was born and raised in Gilbertsville NY and was a resident of Bainbridge NY for over 60 years. After retirement she took up painting and created such beautiful paintings representing her hometown of Gilbertsville NY.
When she was unable to live in her home, she donated her paintings to the Majors Inn, in Gilbertsville. Just recently a family reunion was held and the paintings were so proudly displayed. Jean also self-published a book "Gilbertsville- A History In Paint" to memorialize her beautiful paintings of the grand architecture in her beloved hometown of Gilbertsville. Jean felt such a deep and loving connection to her hometown.
While I was honored to be included in knowing Grandma’s final farewell wishes, the task was filled with love and heart break. The arrangements were beautiful, dignified and meaningful in allowing her to have the send-off she Jean Gilbert obituary wanted. Unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses has created an overwhelming financial burden during this already challenging time as she was without insurance or the collective means of her loving family.
I am reaching out to our community and friends for support in honoring her memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain. Due to my Grandma’s financial situation the expense has created a financial burden during this already difficult time. Your contribution will allow for the focus to be on grieving and relishing in memories of her.
Funds raised will go towards funeral service, burial, transportation, and stone engraving. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in ensuring that the financial burden does not make this already difficult time harder.
I also appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and messages of support during this difficult time. Your kindness means the world to me as I navigate such grief.
Thank you for your consideration, compassion and generosity.
