A Mother In Mourning: Honoring Jhobey Landry

Donation protected
My name is LaQuita Davis. My son Jhobey Landry, was killed in a senseless shooting on Sunday, November 10, 2024. As his death is currently under investigation, I’m doing all I can as a grieving mother to make sure that my son can be laid to rest with dignity and love. Jhobey was one of 10 siblings from both his father’s children and mine, but he was my oldest child, my first born. He also had one son in his lifetime.

Nothing can explain being a mother losing her child. We carry them under our hearts for nine months and in them for a lifetime. We care for them, raise them, teach them, all in hopes that we, the parents, will precede them in death. Nothing prepares us for this. When children lose their parents, they are orphaned, but when parents lose their children, they’re still parents.

Jhobey served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged from duty. Albeit, as a young veteran, he faced various challenges through the years. He created community wherever he went and his reach extends to many that he loved and cared for.

I will always remember his smiling face, his laugh, and his ferocious love for his family! No matter what occurred in our lives, his love always found true north. If you knew Jhobey personally, I’m asking for your help. If you didn’t know him but found yourself here on this page, I’m asking for your help as well. Whatever you are able to donate to help reach our goal would be much appreciated and is an immense blessing. This is the ONLY official GoFundMe page for Jhobey. Please disregard any other pages that may try to take advantage of this most difficult time.

To Somebody,
May you know peace in whatever afterlife may exist for you!
