Honor Jim Glick by supporting his family
James Glick passed away suddenly on August 30th at the age of 46 leaving behind stunned family, friends, and colleagues. Jim was not only a loving son, brother, husband and father, but also the sole provider for his family and the champion, medical advocate, and care giver for his wife (my sister), Stephanie, or Faith as many know her.
This loss is a gut punch to a family, already grappling with a terminal illness; his wife Faith having been diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2019.
I've started this gofundme to help with funds to allow the Faith to honor his children’s wishes to bury Jim in Pennsylvania, the place Jim always called home. This decision has allowed them some small amount of peace within a devastating situation. As such, Jim will be near his mother and sister, extended family and friends, also in PA, to visit him comfortably.
Nothing about this is easy. Jim did a wonderful job of planning for the future as much as he could, based on what he did know about his family's future. He knew his two kids were nearing college, and this future would include navigating a cruel aggressive cancer. No one would have predicted that Stephanie, Kai and Arianna would have to continue these concurrent journeys without Jim there for all that, and every one of the kids’ big milestones (because, frankly, you couldn't make this shit up). But further, Jim's loss is also a financial one, as his family now faces major decisions and expenses, large and small, in the wake of his loss and without his current or future income.
I know the Glicks have already heard from many of their dear family, friends near and far, as well as colleagues who worked closely with Jim for nearly 20 years. You all, like me, want to be told what we can do to help. The ride offers, meal cards, home care tasks, virtual and in-person hugs, you name it, are certainly appreciated. Sharing your love and stories of Jim in a card or on the Legacy page will help celebrate him now and be nice to revisit in the future.
If you would like to also contribute to this gofundme, funds raised will go to the immediate expenses incurred from the AZ funeral home, transport, PA funeral home, and PA cemetery internment fees. Should there be any additional funds, these will be put towards the kids' trusts/college funds.
A sincere thanks for support of Jim's family at this difficult time.
