Joey Douglas Memorial Scholarship

Hello,
On April 5, 2016 a good friend of ours, Joey Douglas, tragically lost his life - 5 days before he was to turn 16.
Joey was an integral part of our community. He attended Vichy Elementary and Silverado Middle School. He was a sophomore at Vintage High school where he was on the water polo team, and played Saxophone in both the marching band and the elite Jazz band. He attended honors classes and aspired to go to college someday.
Joey was a vibrant, caring, honest, and sweet-hearted young man. He always had a smile and was always willing to help someone in need. He had many friends and those who knew him would agree that he was an absolute joy to be around.
We would like to honor Joey Douglas by creating a memorial scholarship in his name.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to $25,000 to generate a perpetual scholarship of $1000. The funds will be deposited into the Joey Douglas Memorial bank account where each year it will be awarded to a student.
The scholarship award deadline is May 12th so time is of the essence for a scholarship to be awarded this year.
Joey and his family would be extremely proud to know that a memorial scholarship was awarded in Joey’s name to help a student continue with their academic goals.

No amount is too small. Help us in honoring Joey and his family in this wonderful way.
Please forward this on to any friends, employees and employers that you think may be able to help. And like it on Facebook to help spread the word.
With a heart felt thank you,
Kelly Chandler
