Honor Joni Jones: Support Her Final Farewell

Dear friends, family, and warm-hearted strangers,

We always know that our parents won't live forever, but nothing truly prepares you for their departure.

My momma suffered an anoxic brain injury and a partially herniated brain stem due to having a heart attack. She made me promise that I wouldn't allow her to live on machines, she didn't want to suffer that way.

It is with the heaviest my heart has ever been that I have to unplug the machines that are giving my momma life.

She's brought such love, laughter, and some spunk into our lives. That spunk pushed her to achieve her lifelong dream at 67 years old of getting her CDLs and trucking cross-country.

I'm faced with the difficult task of arranging her final farewell. I don't want to send her out in the most extravagant way. I just want her to feel the same love that she always gave to others. Unfortunately, the financial burden of the arrangements is overwhelming during this already challenging time. My family recently relocated across the country at the end of August. Now I scramble home to say "see ya later" to my momma for the last time.
