Honor Kate Taylor by Supporting Her Family

Greetings, My name is Steven Gervais (aka discord seetan). My sister Jessica Taylor and Brother in Law Glenn have lost their daughter Kate Taylor. I will let them speak:

Help Kate’s Family After the Unthinkable Loss of Their Beautiful Daughter
It is with unimaginable sorrow that we share the passing of Kate, a brilliant, loving, and extraordinary young woman who left this world far too soon at just 18 years old. For those fortunate enough to have known her, Kate was a light—wise beyond her years, thoughtful, caring, and endlessly talented. She was a phenomenal writer, a gifted pianist, an incredible cook, an avid rock climber, brilliant scholar and an intellectual soul who was well-read and shared wisdom far beyond her age. Her kindness and love touched countless lives, and her absence is deeply felt by all who knew her.

Kate struggled with complex and debilitating health issues from the time she was just three years old. By 13, her condition worsened, making eating incredibly painful and causing severe nausea and bowel dysfunction. For years, her family searched for answers, enduring misdiagnosis of IBS and eating disorders. Kate fought bravely through relentless hospitalizations, countless tests, nine surgeries, and specialist visits, which ultimately led to multiple diagnoses, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS), Colonic Dysmotility, Neurogenic Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.

Though each of these conditions alone is not typically life-threatening, together they culminated in complete intestinal failure. Yet, because there is no singular name for this combination of diagnoses, Kate’s journey was especially difficult. She was never granted the same recognition or support as children with more well-known conditions. There were no established treatment plans, no dedicated research teams, and no structured programs to aid her fight. She constantly had to explain herself, advocate for proper care, and seek out specialists who understood her complex medical needs.

Despite all of this, Kate fought with resilience, grace, and a heart full of love. She never stopped hoping, learning, and sharing her gifts with the world.

Kate’s passing has left an unfillable void, and on top of their immense grief, her family now faces overwhelming financial burdens from extensive medical expenses and end of life expenses. No family should have to endure such heartbreak while also struggling to rebuild their lives.

We are asking for your support to help Kate’s family get back on their feet during this devastating time. Your donations will help ease the financial strain and allow them the space to grieve without the weight of mounting expenses.

Kate’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, courage, and impact. Let’s come together to honor her memory by supporting the family who gave everything to fight for and with her.

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help reach those who may be able to help.
