Please help me say goodbye to my mother

This is my mother, Mariann Veronica Grossman, née La Sota. If you know me recently then you probably know nothing about her or my step-ad, Fred. If you know me from back in the 90s-00s, then you remember ALL that. Regardless, if you would like to help me memorialize her, please, anything small would help.

She grew up in Detroit, Michigan on 7th Mile Rd. In high school, she wrote plays, was part of the debate team, finished top of her class, and was an avid tennis player in her high school years. sfter high school, she tried to find her niche by attempting waitressing, cosmetology school, nursing school, an eventually moved to California to land a job in the entertainment business, working with top union-signed entertainment companies and voice-over talent for decades.

She eventually developed degenerative disc disease in her back and fibromyalgia throughout her body’s entire nervous system that caused her so much pain that she couldn’t live the life she was accustomed to.

After a long, beautiful career, she moved to Palm Springs to retire in a climate more conducive for pain management.

Mariann passed away suddenly on Monday 11/4.

While my mother achieved a lot, our family was challenging, especially with the relationship I had with Fred. For those who don’t know family dynamic, Fred was….. challenging.

Fast forward to her my other death, Fred has not allowed me to say goodbye to my mother. I wasn’t able to see her prior to cremation and I was told that I wouldn’t be allowed any ashes. As such, I am fundraising for the ability to say goodbye and memorialize my mother even though I won’t be able to actually say goodbye. I would love to get her a plaque at Forest Lawn… a place where I can feel connected with her.
