Honor Maritza Webb: Secure a Foster Child's Future
Donation protected
Our friend, Maritza Webb, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the young age of 37. Maritza believed in community and used her short life to intensely work on bettering ours. While she worked tirelessly as a Marion County Public Defender, she always found time to support animal shelters and kids in the Indiana Foster Care System.
Maritza had a limitless heart and devoted herself to supporting a foster child, now 18 years old. Though he is 18, he still has to complete his last year of high school and unfortunately is not receiving any support elsewhere. Martiza supported him financially but also supported him with the guidance and parenting that he needed, and it made her so happy. A colleague of Maritza's has generously agreed to take over for Maritza in caring for him, but she needs financial support to make it feasible. He also is on track to graduate next May and has a 3.0 GPA and is making college plans, so he will need support next year as he transitions into independent living.
Any additional funds will be used to ensure Maritza’s two rescue dogs are cared for.
Maritza saw promise and hope in all of us, and her friends would like to keep her passion and love alive.
Thank you.
