Honor Mark; Support Furaha's Kids' Education

My husband, Mark Westphal, passed away on June 14, 2024. This fundraiser is to honor his final wish that in lieu of flowers at his memorial service, donations are made to help fund the educational costs for the children of one of our friends.

We became friends with Willy and Felister Furaha through Operation Christmas Child. In 2014, one of Operation Christmas Child boxes landed with a young boy in the small rural village of Lindi in Tanzania. After receiving the box for their son, Willy and Felister sent us a lovely thank you letter. We got to know them and their family over the years. Furaha works at the local school and they rely on their faith to make ends meet. They have two elementary aged children, a boy and a girl. The cost of schooling is a major portion of their family income.

God spoke to Mark's heart several years ago and we began paying for the kids annual education costs. With my current situation, paying for the kids education isn't possible. The goal of this gofundme is to cover a few years of educational costs for our friends.

Since gofundme doesn't support direct fundraising for folks in African nations, I will be wiring the money to the kids school or to the family after the fundraiser ends.
