In Loving Memory of Maylan Anthony Newton – A Legacy of Kindness, Passion, and Generosity

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maylan Anthony Newton, a beloved father, brother, friend, and mentor. Maylan passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2025, at the age of 67. You can find his full obituary here: Maylan Newton Obituary

We’ve been deeply touched by the overwhelming outreach to honor Maylan’s life and pay respects. In lieu of flowers, we are accepting donations that will go directly towards causes he was passionate about, continuing the work he believed in.

Maylan’s dedication to helping others was a guiding principle in his life, and through this collective fundraiser, we aim to extend his legacy. These funds are intended to support a variety of organizations that were meaningful to him, including but not limited to "Amazing Women in Automotive", scholarships for youth in automotive, industry organizations and trade schools, cancer research, and more.

Your generosity, in any amount, will help preserve Maylan’s spirit and continue his mission of empowering others. By supporting these causes, you’re helping honor the values he stood for: integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to making the world a better place.

Born on April 20, 1957, in Pensacola, Florida, Maylan grew up in Moorpark, California, and dedicated much of his life to his family, his career, and his passions—particularly in the automotive and motorsports industries. He was a proud automotive technician, entrepreneur, and a key figure in the automotive community for over 30 years. He was also a passionate motorsports enthusiast, owning multiple dragsters, funny cars, and a Harley Davidson, always eager to share his love for speed with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Maylan’s legacy of warmth, mentorship, and generosity touched the lives of everyone he met. He was deeply involved in the lives of his children, Suni Newton Osborn and Chase Newton, and his beloved grandsons, Indiana and Sawyer Osborn. Above all, Maylan’s dedication to connecting with others, offering guidance and sharing his knowledge was a cornerstone of who he was.

A celebration of Maylan’s life will be planned for the summer, and further details will be shared with family and friends once available. We thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this time.

With gratitude,
The Newton Family
