Honor Nicolas Jimenez Leyva's Final Wish

With a heavy heart, the Jimenez family announces the passing away of Nicolas Jimenez Leyva. Husband, brother of five, father of three, grandfather of six, and great-grandfather of one, and 40+ year resident of the Pilsen Community in Chicago. Nico had been fighting diabetes since the age of 35 and unfortunately, his condition never improved, but he fought until his 74th birthday. Today, the day of his passing, would have been his 74th birthday. As his last wish, he asked his family to lay him to rest in his homeland of Guerrero, Mexico. No one prepares us for these heavy moments. If you can, please help (in any amount) for the tragic loss of our beloved family member. The Jimenez family greatly appreciates all the love and prayers.

Con gran pesar, la familia Jiménez anuncia el fallecimiento de Nicolás Jiménez Leyva. Esposo, hermano de cinco hijos, padre de tres hijos, abuelo de seis y bisabuelo de uno, y residente de más de 40 años de la comunidad de Pilsen en Chicago. Nico llevaba luchando contra la diabetes desde los 35 años y lamentablemente su condición nunca mejoró, pero luchó hasta cumplir 74 años. Hoy, día de su fallecimiento, habría cumplido 74 años. Como último deseo, pidió a su familia que lo enterraran en su tierra natal de Guerrero, México. Nadie nos prepara para estos momentos tan pesados.
