Honor Robin's Legacy: Support Her Funeral
Donation protected
Hello we are the children and family of Robin. Our mother Robin is 63 years young. She has 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grands. She has amazing green eyes, a vibrant personality, a heart made of pure gold, and she loves to laugh. She would always be willing to help anyone, anywhere, anytime! Pure angel on earth and the greatest, strongest and bravest person we know.
Here's is a bit about her. She worked many years in customer service. She brought joy to all those who came in contact with her. She never met a stranger. And you couldn't go anywhere with her without her seeing someone she knew. If you were lucky enough to know her joy and love you knew she loved hard and with every part of her being.
Sadly some may know and some may being finding out thru this. Our mother was hospitalized on her birthday on February 10th 2022. A few days later and many tests she was told she has multiple myeloma (very aggressive blood and bone cancer).
Over the past 2.5 years and many hospital stays and different treatments she has fought like the warrior she was. She never gave up just pushed forward no matter the pain. She fought thru reoccurring remission stages as well as the active cancer. 7 different treatments she went thru. As each one stopped working she kept going with the next one.
Cancer took her ability to do any long walking, driving, and many other things she enjoyed very quickly after diagnosis. But she still fought on.
June 4th 2024 she went to her oncologist and her blood work and numbers were right in line she was in remission. However on July 3rd 2024 she was taken back to the hospital with what we suspected was pneumonia again. Sadly on July 5th 2024 we were given some heart wrenching news.
Her oncologist explained to us that the cancer went off like a bomb inside her and spread to multiple areas of her body.
At that time we were given 2 options. 1st option was to put her on a very rigorous, painful, extreme treatment called BYTE therapy. This would cause her to go on a lifetime of dialysis along with several other treatments. However this therapy has an extremely small chance of helping her at the stage she was progressed too and would ultimately end up with the same result as option 2. The treatment could also do more harm and damage than her body could take and would be incredibly painful in the process.
Option 2 was given as hospice care. As her children we wrestled with these options alot. We wanted to do what was right for her. Knowing that the BYTE therapy could be worse for her and potentially take her down very quickly we opted for quality, dignity, and comfortability for her and chose to do end of life care.
Today July 15th 2024 we were informed by the Dr that the progression has start and we may be looking at her journey coming to an end within a few days. That is a hard pill to swallow even when you know it's coming.
Unfortunately mom was doing so well that there were no preparations or finances in place for funeral services for her. As she had to stop working and live off of a limited income upon diagnosis.
She was unable to obtain life insurance due to the huge cost based on her cancer and many companies would not insure her because of that.
While our pain is immense and heart breaking we want to make sure she has the service she deserves because shes an extremely incredible person who deserves more than this world could offer her.
We as the children and family come to you all bearing our hearts and souls in hopes for any blessing to make this happen.
Anything helps! No amount is too small! If you are unable to donate we understand but if you would please share and add her and us to your prayer list we would be very grateful.
We thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts as we prepare to learn how to navigate and unknown new chapter of life that is coming upon us.
Much love and appreciation,
Her children and family
