Grant Robs Last Wish by Helping to Protect Kelly

Hello everyone. My name is Jennifer and I’m a long-time friend of Rob Holcomb and his beautiful wife, Kelly. Rob was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just weeks ago and passed away very quickly. We’re all in shock. Rob was an amazing human being. He was one of the smartest guys I’ve ever known. He was also modest, funny, loyal and endlessly curious. He loved science, nature, travel, cooking and gardening. He took great care of everyone around him including their 4 rescue cats! He used his awesome photography and woodworking skills to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Always eager to share the veggies that he nurtured at the local community garden, he was constantly coming up with new recipes to serve to his many friends, neighbors, co-workers and family.

Rob was also full-time caregiver for his beloved wife, Kelly, up until his death. Kelly, unimaginably, is also fighting late-stage cancer. It seems impossible that two such wonderful people could both be stricken with a terminal disease at the same time. But life is complicated. We who have known and loved Rob and Kelly are very sad and worried about Kelly now. When Rob was diagnosed, his biggest hope was that he would survive long enough to make sure Kelly would be ok. His whole existence since her cancer diagnosis was about making sure she passed peacefully, feeling safe and loved right up to her last breath. But his death was not part of the plan. The resulting legal and financial fallout of two spouses, both faced with terminal cancer, is significant. Rob never had time to prepare for this.

We’re hoping that anyone who reads this will consider helping. We want Kelly to be able to preserve her small nest egg and continue to get the care she needs now that she's facing many unexpected costs. These include legal fees to administer Rob’s estate, funeral expenses and costs for her to put her own affairs in order now that she’s alone. It has been estimated that these costs will come to at least $10k. She doesn’t have that kind of money and is understandably overwhelmed with grief and fear right now.

Any donation, however small, would be of great help. If donating just isn’t possible, then sharing this page with others who might be interested in their story would be wonderful and greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your kindness and any help you can give to honor Rob’s memory by supporting his beloved Kelly in her time of need!
