My mother, who was supposed to be with me for many more years, is gone, and I now find myself preparing to bring my first child into a world without the comfort of family. I never imagined I would be facing such loss, and I’m left grappling with how to move forward, how to honor my mother’s legacy, and how to navigate this world that now feels so empty.

On top of these expenses, I am also carrying the weight of $20,000 in college debt. Every day feels like an uphill battle. I am trying to process the trauma of losing my mother while facing the crushing reality of financial insecurity. The grief of losing her, paired with the pressure of building a stable future for my family, leaves me feeling vulnerable and overwhelmed beyond words.
