Honor Ruby C. Boyd: Help Us Lay Her to Rest
Donation protected
My name is April Smith. It is with great sadness that I have to start a GoFundMe to lay my grandmother to rest.
My grandmother, Ruby C. Boyd, passed away on October 25th. She was 105 years old. My grandmother was the first Black librarian in the city of Philadelphia and the first Black librarian in the school district. She devoted her life to helping others and worked diligently in her church, Mother Bethel AME.She was also a dedicated AKA Diamond Soror.
Unfortunately, due to the greed of individuals while in the nursing home, her accounts were depleted. I am the last person left along with my children. All we want to do is lay her to rest the way she deserves to be.
Her body is being held at Terry Funeral Home in Philadelphia. The service is set for Friday, November 8th. All funds have to be paid by Wednesday, or there will be no service.
If you don't feel comfortable donating here, you can donate directly to the funeral home. Just let them know it's for Ruby C. Boyd.
