Ryan Jeffrey Temple, beloved family man, friend, mentor, and counselor, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2023, in his hometown of Long Beach, California. Ryan was just 46 years old, but his vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of so many.

Ryan dedicated himself to the Long Beach Unified School District as an academic counselor. He spent 20 years as a cherished counselor at Poly High School and most recently at Millikan High School. His cheerful attitude, infectious humor, and genuine care for his students made a lasting impact. He was not just a counselor; he was a guiding light for countless young people, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.

Beyond his professional life, Ryan was a dedicated loving family man and an asset to his community. He prided himself in being the best husband and father he could be. Ryan valued spending quality time with his family by exploring the outdoors together on countless family vacations. He was also an enthusiastic youth soccer coach and referee, inspiring kids to embrace the joy of sports. His passion for adventure and mentorship was contagious, and his memory will forever remind us to cherish each moment.

To honor Ryan’s legacy and keep his spirit alive in our community, we are raising funds to create a memorial bench in his name. This bench will be a peaceful spot for reflection and remembrance, where friends, family, and students can gather to celebrate Ryan’s incredible life and the joy he brought to all of us.
